About Electric Bicycles

If you are not familiar with electric bicycles here is a simple explanation of what is involved.

An electric bicycle maintains all the essential ingredients of a normal bicycle; pedals, saddle, handlebars, two wheels, brakes, gears and a chain while the mechanics of riding an electric bicycle are essentially the same as a normal bicycle too.

But with an electric bicycle you have the added advantage of an electric motor mounted in the wheel, in Pedego's case the rear wheel. The motor is powered by a lithium battery, much like you find in your laptop or mobile phone, which can be detached from the bike to plug into the mains and recharge after each use.

It's a brilliant and simple concept that is designed to take the huff and puff out of cycling and bring more people on to two wheels.

You need no special licences and there are no requirements to take any tests. You are not subject to road tax or required to take out any vehicle insurance. It is simply the most affordable form of motorised transport available, and its great fun too.

There are lots more you can read about electric bicycles but so not to repeat ourselves here we encourage you to look up some good resources on line to discover more. Here are a few suggestions:
